Overview
One of the most important responsibilities of website
development is to give the client useful project status information. Task
Meister contains the best tools gained over 10 years of Bizware's mission to
provide project visibility to its clients.
Task Meister became such a useful tool to synchronize
expectations that we made it the first Webteam product. The most important feature
of Task Meister was that it had to be simple, very simple. Our clients
had to find it so easy to use that they would prefer it over calling, emailing,
or worse going without knowing where things stood. Instead of Gantt
Charts, Critical Path Analysis, and so on, we distilled Task Meister into the
essential tool of project management an easy way to manage to-do
lists.
We use Task Meister to break a project into its tasks.
That shows clients how long each task will take, when it will be done, who is
responsible for it, etc. A notes section converts haphazard email-based project
comments into a one-stop destination for all promises and results.
And when a client checks project status, they will see
open tasks to their own people as well, typically to provide content. Task
Meister becomes your automatic project advocate.
When a client gets an idea, they enter it as a task
description. You add the estimated hours, and it goes back to the client to
change the task status to "Approved". This is fully traceable and becomes your
automated cash register for additional work.
Task Meister also serves as your archive of all tasks
requested, completed, or cancelled. This is particularly handy to track
incident reports so you can recall how a bug was fixed when something similar
comes up again.
