Many of the fields used to enter an event will be left blank — no need to make work if you just want a reminder. For example, the entire Repeat section is left alone except for recurring events.

In this case, Mary is calling a meeting she wants Tyler Anderson and John Smith to attend as designated on the Attendees picklist. If there are outside attendees, Mary could add them in the Notification fields. All will get invites automatically when Mary presses the Submit button at the bottom.

Mary can also use the calendar to track her private events, particularly those that impact her availability. If she uses the Security picklist to indicate "Private", for example, outsiders will only see a "Busy" for the date and time of the event.
